I’m Steph

MY STORY

I started Contained Creations in 2013 to combine my experience in business with my lifelong love of gardening. At first, I helped friends and a handful of trusting clients fill planters for their front doors, patios, and pools. Word traveled fast! The company quickly blossomed into a bespoke container gardening service for high-end residential and commercial clients throughout Richmond, VA.

Along the way, I built a small but mighty universe of trusted suppliers, became a lecturer and podcast guest, wrote articles on container gardening, and experimented like crazy. Oh, and I planted THOUSANDS of pots!

For nearly 10 years, I poured my heart and soul into making beautiful container gardens for my clients. But as demand and the business grew, I knew I couldn’t physically keep up. I needed to do things differently if I wanted to reach as many container gardening enthusiasts as possible.

So I took the business online and dedicated myself to teaching others how easy it is to create elegant container gardens themselves, in their own spaces! Throughout this site, you’ll find a series of online courses, collections of printable planter recipes, a shop full of containers and outdoor decor, and plenty of free guidance and advice based on my years of experience.
